Writing Project 3 peer review will help you analyze your paper better and help your partner revise his/her draft for final submission.

Step 1 View the following Videos
Step 2 Post your Writing Project 2 Rough Draft to the discussion board by Tuesday
By Tuesday submit your rough draft of Writing Project 3. You can copy paste it into the discussion board or (preferably) attach it as a file. You will click “Create Thread” and attach your draft in a similar way as you have done for discussions or annotation in the past.
Next, pick one of your classmates papers, and complete your review.
Click Reply on their discussion board thread and reply to let your classmate know you will be reviewing their paper.
Please choose a paper that does not have a reviewer already.
Download the rough draft, and make comments on it. You can use the insert comment function on word, or you can simply write your comments in red. Follow the directions listed below.
Step 3 Download your partner’s paper
Download your partner’s document and save it to Word, so you can begin the review.
Step 4 Follow this process
1. Read the paper
2. Leave in-text comments on the draft: 2 items per paragraph that deal with organization and content, 1 item per paragraph that deals with sentence structure and/or grammar
3. Answer all questions on the checklist provided below for your partner in complete sentences at the end of their draft or on the discussion board in a response to them along with adding their draft.
Does the author present the issue in his or her introduction? Does he start from general information and move to specifics? Please provide specific feedback about the introductions format, information, and style.
- Does the writer introduce the speech, the author’s name, and the main point/argument of the speech?
In the thesis, does the writer argue whether the argument is developed well/effective/convincing, rather than the argument itself? Does the writer argue about the how effective the argument is rather than agree or disagree with the point? Please provide specific feedback about the thesis.
- Does the writer support each of his or her claims with quotes from the speech itself? Please provide specific feedback about each body paragraph (quotes and analysis).
Does the writer explain why he or she chose this particular quote? Does the explanation connect back to the thesis? Does it all connect back to the idea of the argument being effective and convincing or not? Please provide specific feedback about the paragraph development.
Does the writer have a conclusion that restates the thesis and gives a final thought? Please provide specific feedback about the conclusion and its effectiveness.
- Step 5 Post to your Partner’s Original Thread
- Find your partner’s original post and respond to the post with the commented rough draft and the answers to the peer review checklist. Post both the marked up copy of your partner’s essay and the answers to all checklist questions to your partner’s original thread.
