Suggested stylistic guidelines: In the first sentence or two of the introduction, mention the title of the reading(s), the name of the author(s), and the author?s (s?) enthymeme(s). Use a neutral tone; be objective and fair.? The goal of an annotation is to report the author?s views as accurately as possible. Write the essay using standard academic, attributive prose: ?third-person point of view, the present tense, the appropriate documentation and citation (MLA).? For example, Tooley argues that . . .
