I understood that healthcare service management requires a person to embrace technology, be an effective communicator, follow regulatory compliances, and consider financial management (Zio, 2022). I also learned about the key challenges in the field to look out for in the real world, such as financial constraints and careful allocation of funds and other resources. How Does Healthcare Strategic Planning and Technology Development Change with Time? I learned that healthcare needs are changing with the increase in an aging population, chronic diseases, and technological advancements. In response, healthcare facilities have to ensur e that their strategic planning frameworks consider health trends, adopt data-based decision-making, and be flexible to changes in technology (Zaid et al., 2020). Also, technology development changes with the emergence of new patient needs and expectations. For example, patients are more receptive to telemedicine as it helps them to save on cost and time. What Is the Involvement of Entry and Middle Managers in the Strategic Planning Process? According to Boutcher et al. (2022), middle managers act as knowledge breakers in the strategic planning process. Alternatively, entry-level managers collect and analyze data geared towards enhancing the strategic planning process. Types of data collected include patient satisfaction, resource utilization, and staff productivity. What Is Their Responsibility Level? Middle managers are responsible for ensuring that strategic plans are effective and that they meet facility goals and objectives. Entry-level managers, on the other hand, are tasked with roles such as monitoring the performance of a strategic plan and identifying areas that can be improved to maximize expected outcomes. For instance, incorporating Electronic Health Record s (EHRs) into strategic planning can enhance patient care and operational efficiency. Entry and middle-level managers play a pivotal role in the strategic planning process. They are often responsible for executing plans at the departmental level and can provide valuable insights into the feasibility and practicality of strategic initiatives. Their responsibilities include setting departmental goals in line with the broader organisational strategy, managing resources, and leading change management efforts. This program has been instrumental in equipping me with the skills to add value to any organisational role I pursue. It has enhanced my understanding of the interconnectedness of various departments within a healthcare setting and how strategic decisions at one level affect operations throughout the entire organisation. People who manage healthcare at lower and middle levels are super important for planning. They give insights from their day-to-day work on how things run, where to put resources, and what their teams can do. While lower-level managers work on doing stuff that fits with big goals, like trying out new methods or tech, middle-level managers turn big plans into real actions. They make sure things run smoothly every day while keeping in line with the big picture. Their jobs include things like looking at data to see how things are going and where they can improve, making sure everyone works well together, putting big plans into action in their areas, checking progress, and talking with higher-ups to keep them updated and solve problems. A good training program for healthcare managers should teach both theory and practical stuff.
