A systematic plan to maintain quality in any organization is essential. Reflecting on your organization and work environment, briefly describe the quality improvement process your organization uses.

- Why would you want to or not want to serve on an organization-wide quality committee?
- As a school nurse, we have two-three times a year to discuss necessary improvements to serve our students, staff, and buildings. We are responsible for the overall health and safety of everyone. We also are a part of a union. Our nursing team has an email chain in which we discuss issues related to employment. If this can not be resolved with our administrators personally, we bring this to the attention of our union. The union takes a while to address issues with the school board. So I prefer to handle things amicably between nursing, specific staff, and administrators. This would require transparency and accountability to take place which does not always happen. I would want to serve on an organization-wide quality committee to advocate for individuals like myself whose voices are often unheard.
