on the history, development, innovation, and current state of gifted education. For this activity, you are an educational psychologist teaching a course to undergraduate preservice teachers who will be working with gifted students. Use PPT or another tool of your choice (e.g., LucidDraw) to draw a flow chart that displays what you feel are the key historical events and contributions to gifted students’ development. Be sure to identify a minimum of five key contributions and/or events.
Use any shapes you want, but make sure that the logic (or flow) of your diagram makes logical sense. Use arrows to show the progression of thought, but also use them to identify connections between events and contributions. For instance, if Ericcson had built upon Bloom, you might provide a dashed curved arrow from the shape where you discuss Bloom to the shape where you discuss Ericcson, illustrating that Bloom had an influence on Ericcson’s contribution. You might also change the size of shapes to illustrate how “big” of a contribution was made. If you believe Winner’s work was a huge breakthrough, then “his” shape should be bigger to represent that. Consider adding a symbol (e.g., a rainbow) if you feel that a certain theorist’s work had progressive implications for supporting issues of diversity. Insert text boxes below or to the side of shapes and draw connection lines as needed to make sure it is clear who and/or what the text is discussing. In the text boxes, you will provide detail and elaboration about exactly what occurred that you felt was important. Explain what happened and your logic for including the key point. In other words, don’t just state what happened, be sure to discuss why your students must be aware of the contribution and/or event. Make note of any diversity symbols you’ve added and your rationale for their inclusion. Be sure to use in-text citations to support any information you provide or assertions of fact. Consider writing the discussion in a word document to review and revise, checking for errors, and cleaning up issues of writing mechanics before pasting the discussion into a textbox.
When your presentation is complete, you will download your work.
Length: 5 shapes and discussions, 200 words (minimum) per discussion
References: Include a minimum of 5 scholarly resources.
