You are a paralegal who has been working for a solo practitioner, Yara Moreno, in a modest urban community of about 100,000 people. The office is located just outside of the downtown area. The office engages in civil litigation and family law work, primarily. Ms. Moreno worked for a small law office right out of law school and then opened her own practice. You have been working with her since the office opened 7 years ago.

Over the past 3 years, the practice has brought on one attorney and some additional staff to support the team. The new attorney handles more transactional work: wills, trusts, estate planning, and real estate. The practice recently hit a bit of a slump in terms of bringing in new clients. Yara has asked you to come up with a plan to ethically and effectively market the firm to the diverse local community.

Assignment:

Create a PowerPoint presentation to sell your office on your marketing plan.

Your presentation should include between 6 and 12 substantive slides (excluding the title slide and reference slide).

You will address at least three ways that the law office can ethically market to the diverse community.

You may consider any of the following types of marketing approaches:

• print media,

radio,

• television,

mailers (targeted or general), and

• any form of social media

as methods for delivering your marketing message.

• For each of the three examples, you will need a minimum of 2–4 slides:
• The first slide (or two) will be the actual marketing piece itself (the radio spot script, TV ad script and images, social media post, brochure, etc…)
• The next slide (or two) will be your analysis, explaining why this will be an effective and ethical element of your marketing plan. Reference ethical rules in your response. How will the advertisement as drafted help you to reach your diverse community of potential clients?
• In addition to fulfilling the specifics of the assignment, a successful presentation must also meet the following criteria:
• Your 6- to 12-slide requirement is excluding your title, introduction, and reference slides.

Text should be large enough to be read by your audience (font size 20–28 point).

Limit each slide to between 6 and 8 lines of content.

You may use pictures, charts, and graphs to supplement your material as long as they do not take up the entire slide.

Use bullets for your main points.

1. Use speaker notes to fully explain what is being discussed in the bullet points as though you are presenting to an audience, being sure to follow Standard English (correct grammar, punctuation, etc.).
2. Viewpoint and purpose should be clearly established and sustained.

Presentation should be well ordered, logical, and unified, as well as original and insightful.

Your work should display superior content, organization, style, and mechanics.
