GWA Part 2 (pp. 41-60)
reply to both questions below about GWA Part 2 (pp. 41-60). Then end your post by asking a question about the reading. I will use this discussion to inform our in-class discussion so remember what you wrote in case I ask you to elaborate or if your question gets answered.
[[Respond to at least TWO of the prompts below (these are adapted from the “Study Questions” at the end of Part 2]]
1. Choose ONE of the objections that V?caspati surveys on pp. 47-48 and briefly explain it and his response: that his “prover” is unestablished, that his argument proves what is already admitted, that his examples lack the property to be proved, OR that his argument includes a contradiction.
2. Why does V?caspati claim that the Lord’s knowledge is eternal and uncaused? What objection is this meant to avoid? (HINT: see pp. 50-51; we’ve seen this strategy with Aquinas)
3. What does V?caspati mean when he talks about “being a property of the inferential subject” (GWA 50-53)? How does this allow him to discuss God even though God has unique properties unlike those of makers of the examples he uses?
Again, make sure to end each response with a question about the reading to your instructor or classmates. Replying to your classmates is optional but may afford extra credit if your replies are thoughtful and accurate.

Thesis: There should be an easily-identifiable thesis (your ‘stance’, position, or interpretation of that part of the reading you summarized)
Argument: Justify your thesis with a brief argument (i.e., why you’re taking that ‘stance’ or why you think your interpretation is helpful)
Examples (optional): Provide examples from your own life if you think they’d be helpful. In general, I’m fine with first-person pronouns.
Important TECHNICAL criteria:
