Play Genogram

Colored markers (colorful and legible).
Construct a two-generation genogram outlining the family structure.
Identify the nuclear family, extended family- use symbols, names, & ages.
- Map relationships, addictions, illnesses, medical/physical illness, mental issues, etc.
- Assign miniature toys to each family member ( I have the toys with me and I’ll physically have to connect them to a family member after the genogram is drawn out)
- Create a genogram key
- Create a 1 to 1 ½ -page single-spaced written summary:
- Identify presenting concern(s)
- Describe family members, relational patterns.
- Describe strengths of each family member and at least one family strength.
Pre-hypothesis and post-hypothesis
- Explain each assigned miniature toy.
- Identify at least two open-ended questions you would ask the family.
- What are your recommendations for this family (continue with therapy, referral for additional services, termination, etc.)?
