Using the Qualitative Dissertation Template as a guide, compose the Data Collection Plan section of your study’s Chapter 3.
First, give a brief overview of the data collection approaches you listed in Discussion: Sources of Evidence and Methods of Data Collection) (In Important Notes Section). Provide a brief rationale for each approach.
Be sure to follow the Qualitative Dissertation Template.
Next, in a subsection for each approach, describe in detail the way you will collect data using each approach. Do not provide a subsection on how you will analyze the data; that is the next assignment.
Compose your Data Collection Plan section with clarity and precision. Include a title page and references page. Current APA formatting is expected throughout the assignment.
Please refer to the Qualitative Dissertation Template as a guide. For each section, there is specific guidance that must be followed. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.
Part 2:
In addition to composing the Data Collection section, please provide the problem statement, purpose statement, research gap (at least one current source stating the need for your study), and research questions as a supplement to the section (In Important Notes Section). You can provide this information in bullet or narrative form immediately preceding the chapter submission.

Discussion: Sources of Evidence and Methods of Data Collection For The Study: Impact of Under-representation of African American Male Administrators on Retention of African American Male Educators:
Surveys
Surveys are an excellent way to get numeric and qualitative information about the subject of study. Therefore, to learn how African American leaders feel about the effects of not having enough Black American leaders on retention, using surveys is essential (Frank et al., 2021). It is best to interview a diverse group of African American male teachers from different schools and districts to get helpful information from a large group. When using surveys to ask people questions and get their answers in a planned way, data is examined scientifically to find patterns, connections, and trends. Personalized questions can help learn more about how organizational support affects decisions to stay with a company, the training options available, and how important it is to be represented. Open-ended survey questions let participants share their experiences and viewpoints, improving the information gathering quality.
Interviews
When it comes to the lack of Black-American male leaders and how that affects their retention, semi-structured interviews are a flexible and in-depth way to learn about African American male educators’ personal experiences and points of view (Ashikali, 2023). An in-depth investigation with a small group of subjects may help learn more about African American male educators’ life situations, work challenges, and job goals. Interviews that are partly organized help dig deeper into new topics and ask follow-up questions within a set framework. Researchers can find out how guidance, company culture, and structural problems affect decisions and experiences related to retention by talking to people. Besides the number of surveys, the comprehensive information from interviews enhances understanding of the factors that affect the retention of male African American teachers.
Focus Groups
Focus groups are great for getting African American male teachers to share their stories and gain new ideas. They encourage connection, confirm experiences, and spark new ideas by leading group talks (Lambert et al., 2023). Therefore, this method works great for looking into cultural norms and shared experiences within this group, revealing similar themes and structural problems. Focus groups help people understand better by allowing different points of view. They also show what makes African American male teachers stay in their jobs.
Justification of the Data Collection Approaches
Surveys are an excellent way to get numeric and qualitative information from a large group of African American male teachers, giving us information about their thoughts and feelings (Frank et al., 2021). Interviews allow us to learn more about specific people’s experiences and the effects of the lack of African American male managers in leadership positions. Focus groups help people get to know each other better by studying shared experiences and developing new ways to solve problems with engagement in the school system.
