Are there any visual aids or recreations in the film? Direct cinema? How and why is this footage effective? 3. Which interviewee’s perspective on the subject stood out to you. Why? What is the filmmaker’s position on the subject? What does the filmmaker want us to feel by the end of the film? 4. What approach/techniques/footage might you use if creating a documentary about your own family? 5. What stories that could be told in your own family might have differing perspectives? Why? Choose a scene from any film, not previously analyzed in class, that you think represents good acting. Using voice-over narration, analyze the scene by including it in a short video recording (this can be done through using Panopto, Power Point, etc.) The idea is to apply course concepts to your discussion of the scene. Should be no more than 2-4 minutes. Save and upload your presentation as an Mp4 or to YouTube/Vimeo and provide the link to the submissions page. (please make a small powerpoint and I will do a voiceover with the notes given) Movie: The Godfather How will the assignment be graded? 15 points= Excellent and detailed observations and application of concepts we discussed in class. 14 points = Observations are generally good but could use a bit more detail. 13 points = Observations are okay, if a bit unclear. 12 points = Failure to apply at acting concepts from class. 11 points = Unclear observations. Failure to apply acting concepts from class. 10 points = No narration or application of course concepts. 0= Failure to complete the assignment by the due date/time.
