You MUST submit your assignment via Canvas, and it must be in a word doc (no PDF JPG, etc) Because much information is only available from people, personal interviews are important tools to gain deeper insights into understanding behaviors and standards within an industry. You are required to identify, contact, and interview someone working as a healthcare professional, preferably a healthcare marketing professional (since this is a marketing course). This assignment should help you understand how to apply key concepts to your professional future, serve as a leader, and participate and lead various activities, like setting up and leading the interview. The second writing assignment sis a follow-up to this where you will take this a step further and discuss how what you learned in the interview reinforces that was the in text/course and how you plan to develop those skills to help with your future career (even f not in healthcare or marketing). This person should have daily involvement with, and/or managerial control over, some element of healthcare (i.e., a physician, medical salesperson, hospital administrator, pharma account executive, office manager, records supervisor, etc). Since this is a healthcare marketing course, it would be ideal if you choose someone who works within healthcare marketing. This can be someone you know already (i.e., family member, friend, neighbor, etc. but No Students, NO Dinner with Dr. Weiss guests, or anyone younger than 21yrs of age) or someone you identify and reach out to for this project. Ideally, this individual will have at least five years of professional working experience. If you are struggling to find someone, I encourage you to leverage LinkedIn and reach out to someone who is in a role that you aspire to be in someday! If struggling, you may reach out to Dr. Weiss to discuss, but recommend you do this at least two weeks prior to the deadline. As you ideally, want to have the interviewee picked out and scheduled week in advance of the deadline. Your interviewee may get busy with work, you do not want to rush this assignment, as you may have additional questions once the paper is done. Also, you are welcome to share this paper with your interviewee if they would like to read it. If your interviewee has any questions or concerns about the assignment, let me know and I can chat with them. This is meant to be a fun assignment that will help you not only gain practical knowledge about the industry but glean insights that will help you along your own professional journey. STEP 1: Get Approval from Dr. Weiss— Send her a quick email about who you would like to interview, their relationship to you and why they qualify as a healthcare professional.
