This week, you will construct a full outline for your paper due in week 5. Include a title page-3.docx Download title page-3.docxcitations and a reference page.
First, read the information on outlines in the “pages” section of Canvas. You may use the sample outlines available as a guide to help create your outline.
The outline will help identify the main elements necessary to compose an effective essay.
Select a topic, find relevant sources from the library, and then complete the outline,
Conduct Research.
Find an article on your chosen topic (see topics below). Select articles from reputable sources such as news magazines or scholarly journals.
Find two other articles; one to support the argument and one against.
In the introduction, you will summarize the first article, so include only the main points in the outline.
Include the author’s name, credentials, if available, and the article’s title.
State the author’s writing strategy: see the attached strategies. Rhetorical Modes Handout (1).docx.
The summary must include only the main points of the article, no personal opinions.

Compose the thesis statement. The thesis is usually the last sentence of the introduction, and it should contain three main ideas to be discussed in the essay. See the format for the thesis statement:

Build the essay from the thesis statement.
The counterargument can be presented in a separate paragraph, or it can be presented point-by-point. Include citations.
The conclusion should restate the thesis statement, summarize the essay’s main points, and end with a closing point or a call for action.
Find three articles for one of the topics below or one relevant to your career or studies. Remember to include an article with a counterargument.
