Microeconomic Analysis for Business Decisions Assignment: Week 3 Article Review Learning Objectives • • Read and review current event news articles to analyze the world around you Connect real world events to the microeconomics course material learned thus far Due Date Please submit your assignment by Sunday, February 4th at 11:59 PM (AZ time). Assignment Overview Current events are opportunities to see economics in practice. This assignment provides the opportunity for you to connect theory to the real world and write about your findings using the economic tools discussed in class. You are required to find a substantial article on Consumer Decisions from the Wall Street Journal. As a UA student, you have the ability to access a variety of publications for free through the UA library. If you need assistance, please consider contacting the Eller librarians at http://libguides.library.arizona.edu/EllerOnlineUndergrad Once you find the appropriate article, you are to summarize the article in several paragraphs. Please provide the article’s complete citation in APA format and URL. Then look for the areas where consumer decision making has taken place. For instance, you may have an article where the price of one good has increased and thus consumers are substituting to a different good at a lesser price. Explain what you see happening and then the economic tools of analysis, in this example indifference curves to illustrate and even graph the economic phenomenon. Conclude by explaining why you chose this article. The review should be 1.5 – 2 pages single spaced and use APA format (https://new.library.arizona.edu/research/citing/guide) for the citations. If you have questions on how to cite in APA, please see Purdue Owl APA: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/ Please note the sample paper and the various reference list examples.
