You will develop a summary that you could use within an evidence-based practice (EBP) committee or related venue to share with your colleagues. This paper will be5 – 6pages in length.

· Select a clinical practice guidelines that addresses an issue pertinent to your practice setting.

· Search the literature and evidence-based practice websites and databases to find a recent clinical practice guideline (no more than 5 years) related to the issue you select. · Analyze and critique the clinical practice guideline. Use the Clinical Practice Guideline Summary Template in Course Resources to develop your paper. Components include:

The field of nursing has been around for hundreds of years, and there are many different types of evidence-based practices that can be applied to healthcare interventions. What is Evidence-Based Practice?

Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) is the systematic and scientific process of determining the best evidence available for making clinical decisions. It’s a way to improve patient care and outcomes by combining research evidence with clinical expertise and patient values. EBP helps providers make informed decisions about what treatments are most effective for their patients, as well as how to deliver those treatments in ways that are safe, ethical, respectful of human dignity, cost-effective, efficient—and so on.

Use the PICOT method to form the question.

The PICOT method is an acronym for Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcomes and Time. It helps you to identify the population and outcome that you want to measure.

For example: If a researcher wants to measure the effectiveness of a new treatment within patients with advanced cancer who are not responding well to conventional therapies, they could use this question: “What is the estimated survival rate in these patients if they receive our new drug?” The researchers would then compare this group against another group who received no treatment at all (the control group).

Implement the evidence in your practice.
