Write a paper on “Put First Things First”. A huge component is the “Activity Quadrant” matrix that assesses your effectiveness ability and time management. Towards that end, this session has an activity that requires you capture what you actually do over a four day period in 1/2 hour blocks. Use the XL to help you capture what you do over the four days and then base the paper you will write on your findings. You are required to also report on how you captured the data in your paper. The XL sheet actually calculates for you!
“What I Learned from 4 Days in my Life”
The reflection paper will be based on the data you collected over the four day period. What I want you to do is:
Focus on the Covey 4 Quadrants
Identify your data collection methodology (attach documentation)
Calculate the percentage of time you spent in each quadrant (the spread sheet really helps here) attach documentation here as well
Identify the percentage of time you spent the most (by quadrant) attach documentation
Identify the percentage of time you spent the least (by quadrant) attach documentation
Any frustrations/concerns that could be related to the two items above
What you learned about how you prioritize your activities, and how you can spend more time in a different quadrant
What kinds of solid steps you can take to be more effective using the new knowledge you have
