Furthermore, examining the underlying assumptions of the middle-range theory is essential for internal critique. Another aspect of internal critique is evaluating whether ideas in the middle-range theory are precisely defined and operationalized. Researchers may steer clear of such problems and make sure they are using solid and relevant middle-range theories in their study by combining internal and external critiques. These assessments raise the value and significance of nursing research by offering a means of upholding the standard, reliability, and relevance of middle-range theories.
