Directions:
1. Develop an equipment and uniform budget for your physical education program for each grade level and for each teacher in your program, minimum of 20 levels (e.g., 4 grade levels x 5 physical education teachers)
2. Allocate funds for office supplies and equipment.
3. Present a one page budget sheet Keep in mind that every teacher will see what the others will be receiving from you, so be prepared to defend your budget.
4. Describe what items you will allocate monies for and list those items that each team will be required to fundraise for. Give your rationale on a separate sheet.
Rules for developing a budget
1. You can transfer monies from one budget to another if you wish.
2. Consider equipment needs for each teacher and grade level, special equipment purchases, reusable equipment, and equipment that needs replaced
3. Consider additional expenses, such as teachers’ travel to professional conferences, additional teacher trainings, or special physical education days (such as a school wide field day or field trips)
4. You may use “other sources” of revenue to subsidize programs, such as government or private grants, fundraisers, renting out of facilities to after school programs, etc.
5. Teacher salaries are not paid out of this budget – these are paid via the district so you do not need to account for salaries
