Annotated Bibliography: At this point in your research, you should have at least 7 sources in your bibliography, and using the SAR method or the examples of an annotated bibliography, you need to create three paragraphs that explain IN SPECIFIC LANGUAGE what you will be using from that source. For your summary paragraph, follow this advice: “Summarize each source for accuracy, quality, and relevance. For your evaluation paragraph, think of the analysis paragraph from the SAR sheet. In this paragraph, you will be showing the purpose, tone, audience of the article, based on your analysis of the article. Follow this advice: “Reflect, asking yourself how the source will contribute to your research project.”For your “Use” paragraph, you will be telling how and where you will be incorporating this into your project/paper. It will contain your response as well, considering that you will have determined the importance of your source.Your bibliography will use MLA style, including use of hanging indents and alphabetization of entries. (Refer to the handout I have provided and to In Conversation, pp. 100-101 for information on the formatting and for a sample annotated bibliography.)Your source citations must be complete, clearly written, and allow me to see why you have chosen that source in more than general terms (no phrases such as “It will help me with my research”).Outline: Your outline will begin with your thesis statement and include all the main points of your project/paper in the order that they will appear in the final form. It will finish with a statement of your conclusion. What point will you be making (your thesis)? What is your purpose, what role will you be taking? How and where will you be incorporating information from your sources?Your outline needs to be in alphanumeric format and can be use either phrases or complete sentences, and each section should be marked with a separate letter or number, following the format in the handout or In Conversation, pp.183-85. Each section must include the main points of all the paragraphs or information in that section and a brief mention of the support (evidence) you will be using to “prove” that point. How I Will Grade Your AssignmentAnnotated Bibliography (100 points)Your bibliography must contain at least 7 different sources.Your summary of each source should have between 1-5 sentences. Your annotations and use paragraphs should also be between1-5 sentences. As long as your points are clear.Your annotated bibliography should use specific language that allows me to understand exactly what it is about that source that you will use in your paper. You must use proper MLA format (including hanging indents for each citation and correct alphabetization of entries and correct citation format).Your bibliography must have correct spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure.Outline (100 points)The outline must begin with your thesis statement. Your thesis statement cannot be a fact or a question.Your thesis must convey the argument, point of view, or problem that will guide your project/paper.The outline must convey the order of your research paper. Each section of your paper must be clearly marked. Each section must note both main points and mention of the supporting evidence that you will be using. If you are creating a project that involves interviews, you must include the questions you will be asking.Your outline must be in alphanumeric format. It must exhibit correct spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure. The outline may be written in phrases – NOT JUST SINGLE WORDS – that convey enough information for me to be able to know what point you are making, or it can be written in complete sentences that also clearly convey the main points of that section. It will finish with the conclusion to the project/paper.
