Explain risk factors that may increase that type of abuse.
Explain how intimidation and control contribute to the area of abuse chosen to focus upon.
Describe the factors substance use plays in the abuse.
List common characteristics of a victim of that abuse.
Describe the common characteristics of a perpetrator of that abuse.
How would a counselor or paraprofessional assess this type of abuse? What specific assessment tools can be used?
What treatment interventions and resources could help a family with this type of abuse? How should these interventions and resources be documented?
How does a counselor or paraprofessional address abuse issues within a family’s or client’s treatment plan? How is progress of a family’s/client’s specific goals measured?
Also include a title slide and a reference slide as well as detailed speaker notes that represent what would be said if giving the presentation in person. The speaker notes should include citations when appropriate.
