The grade results among elementary, middle and high school students was most important because not only have high impact and proximity, but it also is important to a wider range of families in the area. Second, the decline in enrollment and the expectectation of a continued decline at the elementary school level has high consequence for those who have a child going into elementary school as well as anyone who’s child will be attending in upcoming years. The middle school principal resigning has high prominence as she is in the public eye in her community. Not only this, but the fact she held the position less than a year means there must be an interesting reason. The new policy regarding performance enhancing drugs has high conflict for those on the team doing drugs as they will be punished, those not doing drugs as they will lose good players, and the community as a whole as the team may get a lot worse. The retirement of Jerry Williams gives variety and would be an uplifting change of pace from the mostly negative stories above. The leak in the pool has a great impact for those involved in swim, but the proximity for everyone else in the community is not there as they don’t use the pools. Lastly, the hiring of Judy Davis has no proximity to anyone but those working in the finance office.
