I feel education in has fluences a person’s life chances in general human flourishing. Education has both intrinsic and instrumental value for societies as a whole and for individuals. I believe in equal education because of access to higher education that follows college education; better decision-making skills and professional mobility and more autonomy in the workplace ( Institute for Higher Education Policy, 1998). Believing in equal education increases education attainment by a portion of the population among disadvantaged youth and increases the skill level and knowledge in the general workforce. Equal opportunity for all children, adults, and youth to attend school is a right; equal education is vital (Vallis, 2016). If this world had equal education, our families will be able to improve their living conditions, increase the income of their family and make sure their children can attend school before studying at a university.
In my opinion, when you treat people equally then everyone should be able to solve problems together, work together, feel cared for and feel safe. Everyone should be treated with dignity, respect, and kindness. If this world would treat each other equally, there would be no discrimination. The sooner this world starts to treat each other equally, the society will become a level playing field. When you are communicating with one another, it is paramount to treat others equally. Treating people equally goes a long way; give them your undivided attention (Hu-DeHart, 1998).

Demonstrates cultural respect and understanding
I’ve always felt that ignorance and social programming have impacted diversity in not just education but in general. There is still to this day an idea that things are not as bad as we are told. My response to this is to say we all experience things differently and being respectful of others and how they feel and who they are requires us to respect each other and have an open mind as well as an ability to listen to another person.
The ability to have an open mind and understand others with a sense of empathy is vital to any professional’s success but especially for educators, I feel this is vital.
Displays sensitivity to ethnically, linguistically, cognitively, physically, and socially diverse groups and individuals
I think this goes back to respect again and treating another person with empathy and understanding.
Treats all people equally
Totally agree. and be open to understanding any type of bias you may have, become aware, and try to learn and grow past them.
Believes in equal educational/vocational opportunity
I read this statement in my research and I think it sums this up nicely: “When we consider issues of justice or injustice, we cannot merely ask whether different people have achieved the same outcome, but rather, whether different people have had the same opportunities to achieve this outcome.” – Merridy Wilson-Strydom (South African Journal of Science, 2015)
This to me is true because if someone does not have the same opportunities as others then one group has an advantage over another and this does not allow for people to be equal and everyone deserves the same opportunities.
Advocates high and appropriate expectations for all students
Most definitely I believe we should push our students and give them appropriate expectations but also set high expectations for them to achieve and have the highest potential beyond our training/education.
