The American painting “Nighthawks” was painted by Edward Hopper in 1942. The painting depicts three people sitting in a diner late at night. The painting is an American icon.
The Italian painting “The Birth of Venus” was painted by Sandro Botticelli in 1486. The painting depicts the goddess Venus emerging from the sea. The painting is one of the most famous paintings in the world.
What the three have in common is that all three paintings depict people or figures in a setting. A concluding paragraph that offers some summative concluding remarks about what you learned about all three of the cultures your examples were from through comparing and contrasting your three examples. Did you learn that all three of these cultures express similar sentiments about parenting, for example? Did you learn that the attitude towards colonization was different in Spain, Africa and South America? Think about how your examples informed you about the similarities and the differences between humans from the cultures you covered.
