2. Write a paragraph summary of the source.
Questions to consider when writing the summary paragraph for each source:
-What type of source is it? (Peer-reviewed journal article? Book? Newspaper op-ed?)
-What central question or thesis does the source state?
-What kind of evidence is used to support the argument or thesis?
-What do you know about the author’s credibility? -What authority does the author have to write with expertise in this field, if any?
When was it published? Where?
3. Write a brief paragraph evaluating the usefulness of the source for your purposes.
Questions to consider when writing the evaluative paragraph for each source:
-How does this source address your research question?
-How do you plan to use this source in your research essay?
