The cervix and uterus were identified and excised. The bladder was found to have numerous lesions; it was also removed. The ureters were transplanted to the skin to allow for urine flow. An ileal urinary conduit, in which the ureters are implanted into a segment of small bowel, was done. Patient also underwent placement of needles or catheters into pelvic organs in preparation for subsequent interstitial radioelement application, which will be scheduled postoperatively.
