One of the QSEN competencies is to be able to integrate evidence practice into clinical practice in order to deliver optimal health care. Sometimes nurses utilize the internet for a resource for their patients. It is imperative that we provide our patients with reliable information. It is important to be able to critique health care websites to ensure that they are reliable. In this assignment you will be evaluating a healthcare website (i.e. CDC, Diabetes.org). Please write a 1 page paper and utilize the following nine questions to evaluate the website.

What can the URL tell you?
Who wrote the page and are the qualified authority? What makes them qualified?
Is it dated, current, timely?
Is the information cited authentic?
Does the page have overall integrity and reliability as a source?
Are there biases in the presentation of information? If so, please share?
Could the page or site be ironic, like a satire or proof?
If you are the patient has questions, can you ask them (Sherwood & Barnsteiner, 2012, p. 178)?
Are there any paid advertisements?
After utilizing these questions, do you feel this is a reliable website? Why or why not?
