here my post 😕 The goal of every teacher is to engage their students for them to succeed eventually. For a student like Maria, who has other responsibilities other than education, her teachers must apply excellent educational practices that will have her engaged and feel included in her studies. Some of these practices include instructional inclusion and inclusive service-learning
Instructional inclusion comprises of physical, social, and psychological needs of students. In this educational practice, the teacher uses different methods such as teaching assistants, integrated learning, among others, to ensure that they meet all the needs of their students (Tich, Abery & Kincade, 2018). This teaching practice aims to promote positive interactions with all students, to give them a sense of belonging. This practice will make Maria feel valued as a member of that class, and it will make her want to engage more in her classes.
Inclusive service-learning is an educational practice that relates classwork with serving the community. Inclusive service learning includes service activities that are combined with academic skills (Tich et al. 2018). This education practice brings together students from different backgrounds to offer their service to the community. Maria is working full time, and it is vital for her to feel the value of her education. Giving service to the community will make her feel more fulfilled and will encourage her to be more engaged in her studies. It is also a way of breaking the classroom monotonous and an avenue to interact with other students on a different dimension.
In general, different educational practices are aimed to increase student education engagement for success. Every classroom has a variety of students from diverse backgrounds, and their level of involvement will vary. For a student like Maria, using instructional inclusion and inclusive service-learning will encourage her to engage more in her studies.

here is mask one
? ?In the media segment at California State University Monterrey Bay, the kinds of educational practices that are likely to engage Maria are educational practices that will allow her to incorporate her learning into her everyday life. For example, Maria could use skills learned in her major in retail management at her current position at Subway. Maria could see if maybe some of the learning opportunities within retail management apply to her everyday role at Subway. Maria could see if paid intern management positions were available to her within the subway corporation. In the book student success in college: Creating conditions that matter chapter one discusses is how it is very important that students actively do something that relates to their learning experience. This experience has shown to be effective in the retention of students and increases graduation rates. In addition to that, other educational practices that are most likely to engage Maria are undergraduate research projects or a collaborative project with faculty and other students. These educational practices should help Maria feel that her efforts towards her educational goals are worth it.

and here mask 2 compare it with my work and include cite/reference Being a full-time student is challenging on its own but when you combine that with two other full-time responsibilities of work and being a parent it may become nearly impossible to succeed. When faced with each of those major focuses it is obvious to see why school may take a back seat if a student is not fully engaged and has a hard time seeing the value in the big picture. This is the reason many students in a situation like this may consider dropping out of school. Maria for example, is faced with many challenges. She is a single parent so she doesnt have someone to help with the tremendous responsibility parenting presents. She needs to support herself and her young son so she relies on her full-time job. Unfortunately, she doesnt have a support system in place and her manager doesnt seem to understand the pressures Maria is under. Perhaps it is time for Maria to look for a new job and to reevaluate her priorities. In her case it would be easy to move school to the bottom of the list. In the narrative we learn that Maria wonders if it is all worth it and it taking a break from school would relieve her stress. While that may ease things for her in the short run it is not a good long term solution. One of the best things Maria could do for herself is to engage in a meaningful group or activity through school. Not only will this provide her with an enjoyable outlet it will also provide connections with other students. Once students engage in a meaningful way with something that excites them, doors to other educationally purposeful opportunities open up,and students discover that being in college is the single best place for them to be.(Kuh et al, 2005, pg. 269) This could help Maria realize other options and see what the possibilities are for her. Entering a program with a mentor much like those described in the video could also be immensely helpful.
Also in regard to understanding the value of staying in school, the participants in the video talked about the importance of learning outcomes. This is critical to the success of students who, like Maria, may question why they are doing something or how their studies will add something of meaning to their lives. As Dr. Rosenberg discusses in the video presentation, outcomes are not limited to essential skills for the workplace like writing and reading and doing arithmetic but other essential skills for life and for becoming that phrase we hear all the time, the lifelong learner, are engaging in activities that make you aware of the place you live in and what matters. (Laureate Education, Inc., 2010) In the case of Maria, grasping those outcomes will help her see the value of remaining in school and understand how she can utilize the skills she learns at school in her career and other areas of her life.
