Assembly of these two triangular elements into a global matrix for nodes 1, 2, 3 and 4
Apply Boundary Conditions; restrain any two nodes (your choice) in x and y and apply any forces you wish (in x or y) to the other two nodes as shown in the sketch above.
Assume material properties of E = 10e6 psi and n = 0.33 (for aluminum)
Rearrange the global matrix for the Fixed dof and Free dof using the A, B, C, and D, partitions (as in the stiffness matrix method)
Calculate the displacements of the free degrees of freedom (you can use MATLAB or any matrix calculator)
Calculate the reactions in the fixed degrees of freedom (you can use MATLAB or any matrix calculator)
Calculate the strains on each element (use Matrix [B] for strains)
