Hello Everyone,
The Conference manager I worked with had expert power. He was so wise and was the reason for me being able to grow in the company. He taught me everything that I know today and still continues to guide me. He is very knowledgeable, not only on work procedures and policy but also on life. If you’re stressed or trying to get through any obstacle in life, he gives great advice. When I first came to the company he took me under his wing because he saw how driven I was. He showed me what I needed to know for me to get where I want to be. Even with him now being promoted to VP of the department, he still has the same humble presence and is still willing to help people learn. His trait theory is the Leader-Member Exchange Theory. He treats people with nothing but respect and is there whenever someone needs him. His leadership style is Transformational/Coaching/Charismatic. He wants to see other people succeed not only himself. He is one of the most successful managers at my job because he wants to see other people succeed and contributes to that success.
After watching the video The Difference Between Winning and Succeeding.” John Wooden, there are some things he said that is what I use in the work setting now. “Not criticizing a team member” & “Not to use profanity”. Using profanity anywhere creates such a negative space, whether it’s at work or your social life. It is not a good practice to criticize anyone because everyone has a flaw and maybe they’re working on it but by criticizing, it makes the person feel like they can’t better themselves. The pyramid has a lot of key points such as confidence (Everyone should be confident in everything they do to grow and be successful) and Friendship. Friends are needed because no one wants to be alone and no one can do everything alone.
