Assignment Overview:
The CQI Risk Management Project will highlight the issue discussed in the Quality and Safety Literature Review through a PowerPoint presentation that outlines the Executive Summary, Issues, Data, and Action Plan with Timetable. The PPP would reflect what you would present to your institution’s Quality and Safety Review Board. The goal is to apply the new knowledge of CQI to a real-world problem and how it should be addressed to improve healthcare delivery quality and safety standards.
Project Guidelines:
As a reference, page 266 in your course textbook outlines what the PPP should reflect. See the CQI Project Rubric in the Assignment Support section for guidelines and grading criteria. The PowerPoint presentation should include no more than 20 slides, including the reference slide.
Submission to Portfolio:
Throughout the graduate nursing program at Utica College, you will use the Engage Portfolio to showcase your work in a summative fashion. You will upload the final draft into the Engage Portfolio when you complete your CQI Project. You will find both video and text-based instructions in the Assignment Support section to assist you in exporting your paper to the Portfolio.
Upon completion of this task, you (the student) will be able to:
Appraise methods used to prevent or reduce quality care problems. (MO 1)
Explain the relationship between technology and informatics in CQI. (MO 2)
Examine the current progress of the Future of Nursing report. (MO 3)
Formulate how an advanced practice nurse can support initiatives to improve care and foster CQI. (MO 4)
Identify ways to create and sustain quality care and how nursing leadership can improve. (MO 5)
Please create a 20 slide video VoiceThread presentation (PowerPoint) to complete this assignment. You are required to narrate your presentation by adding a video comment to each slide. Your entire presentation should include 13-15 minutes of narration. Please do not narrate your reference slide.
Include at least 3 current peer-reviewed journal sources in your initial presentation. It is important that you cite any information you use from these sources on the PowerPoint slides (you do not need to narrate the citations).
You are required to do a minimum of two posts on your peer’s presentations by adding a video comment on any of the slides in their presentation. Your comments on your peer’s presentations should be between 2-3 minutes each. You are not required to reply to those who left comments on your VoiceThread presentation.
