Some of the rationales that support these processes include, the research process in the healthcare system which carries out various research concerning different diseases

- It is important to define the characteristics of the research process at the outset, whether it will be qualitative or quantitative, so that the researcher can test a cause-and-effect relationship or determine if the variables are related to each other, or if the phenomenon calls for a quantitative approach that encompasses the study of research questions and hypotheses that describe a phenomenon (LoBiondo-Wood & Haber, 2018). There are various steps in the research process, according to LoBiondo-Wood, including identifying the phenomenon, research question, study purpose, literature review and design, sample size and legal-ethical considerations, data collection and analysis, results and discussion and recommendations and references. While quantitative research aims to test a hypothesis or answer research questions using statistical methods, qualitative research is more concerned with the interpretation of meanings and phenomena.
- One of the most important types of research in healthcare is evidence-based practice (EBP). They employ the information we needed when there was an outbreak (COVID-19) that we didn’t know a lot about how to deal with, which is what these studies do. As a result, we were able to raise our professional standards and collaborate to overcome the seemingly insurmountable task of surviving a pandemic in the twenty-first century. With the help of evidence-based practice, healthcare practitioners and researchers can use best available evidence, along with patient preferences, to make informed therapeutic decisions. EBP research studies appear to follow a similar pattern to the nursing process, in which information is gathered and used to make decisions. Asked, gathered, assessed/appraised, acted, and evaluated are the steps.
Nursing process is the skeleton of the nursing world, the reason why nurses are what they are, and how nurses can accurately evaluate what is wrong with the patient, how to consequently treat the patient, and how to plan our care based on this process based on our nursing judgment and critical thinking skills. When it comes to patient assessment, the nursing process is the gold standard. This tool is generally taught on the first day of nursing school (Toney-Butler & Thayer, 2022). As with EBP, the nursing process follows a set of steps. Objective and subjective information is assessed, diagnosed, planned, and implemented. As a healthcare provider, you must be aware of the patient’s current health concerns and what may be done to address them. In order to help the patient, nurses are always thinking about what else they can do.
There is a strong correlation between the Magnet Recognition Initiative’s three core goals and the Magnet Model components of new knowledge, innovation, and enhancement. At a high level, Magnet Recognition aims to improve quality in an environment that promotes professional practice, determine the quality of nursing services provided to patients or residents, and disseminate best practices in nursing. Magnet Model aims can only be achieved with the participation of nurses from all levels of healthcare organizations (Williamson, 2018). Nurses’ contributions to the creation of new information and various technologies and upgrades may not be recognized by many nurses, who may be ignorant or even unaware.
Discussion #2
The research process, the evidence-based practice process, and the nursing process have various similarities that include both involving how to improve healthcare’s efficacy, efficiency, safety, and promptness (LoBiondo-Wood & Haber,?2018). Also, they both support the enhancement of the performance and provision of the healthcare system thus improving patient outcomes. In addition, both processes encourage medical professionals to utilize a problem-solving approach to clinical practice and promote personalized patient care. Furthermore, they both cover all types of research.
Another similarity that is between the research process and the evidence-based practice is that research applies a methodology that details quantitative and qualitative to develop new knowledge that is used by the evidence-based practice in applying the best clinical evidence that is extracted from the research process towards making patient care decisions which in turn improves their health care status at large (Mena-Tudela et al., 2018).
On the other hand, they are various differences that exist between the research process, the evidence-based practice process, and the nursing process. Some of these differences include the research process involving carrying out an investigation of the patient’s needs as it aims at improving patients’ healthcare efficacy, efficiency, safety, and promptness. In contrast, evidence-based practice integrates a medical practitioner’s clinical expertise with the best available external clinical evidence from systematic research (LoBiondo-Wood & Haber,?2018). Another difference that exists between the research process and the nursing process is that the research process gathers the data corrected from observing the patient and immediately make it to be of good importance by ascertaining and meeting the patient’s needs and providing appropriate action to improve the patient’s health condition while nursing process determines the effects of a given intervention that the patient is subjected to and tries to explore and analyze the reactions of the patient towards the intervention (Hussein, 2022). In addition, they are a difference between the research process and the evidence-based practice whereby the research process utilizes the various essential evidence as the appropriate healthcare practice while evidence-based practices are implemented and utilized in various healthcare organization that tries to impose such practices on their patient’s health condition to enhance positive health outcome.
Some of the rationales that support these processes include, the research process in the healthcare system which carries out various research concerning different diseases whereby the nursing process carries out assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation when attending to their patients after which they select the best evidence-based practice that is applied in coming up with the best care plan for their patients as their main aim is to improve the general patient outcome. For example, for patients suffering from cancer, the research process enables the nurse to have a cue of what the patient is suffering from as it provides some of the signs and symptoms of the disease while the nursing process carries out its assessment and diagnosis to ascertain that the patient has cancer whereby they evidence-based practice provide the best care plan for them that will help in improving his health condition.
