PICOT: For patients 65 years and above, does the implementation of the AHRQ evidence-based fall prevention program, as compared to current practice, impact fall rates in 8-10 weeks?
In the fifth week, we continue to explore various ways of disseminating scholarship through professional podium presentations at a national conference.
Part I: All Students
Please answer the following:
1. Discuss what you learned about the presentation from your readings this week.
2. How will you incorporate what you learned about best practices for PowerPoint and professional presentations in your Project Implementation Presentation assignment and future presentations?
One tip from the reading this week for successful public speaking is to take a pause during your presentation and allow silence for the audience to think about the main points. It is very tiring when the speaker is talking fast and does not take a break!
Another short publication that helps with shyness or hesitation in public speaking is Stop Hating Public Speaking (2019) which is referenced below.
Part II: For Case Study Students
· Practice Question in PICOT Format. Please use the bullet points as headings. Please answer each bulleted point.
· Discuss best practices for implementing evidence-based practice guidelines with references sufficient to support best practice.
· Discuss strategies for overcoming barriers in implementing evidence-based practice with references sufficient to support strategies.
