Greetings, Scholars & Dr. Blando
The most significant influences on a community's perception of an organization are the ideas, policies, and practices incorporated into a firm's culture. Employee perceptions, attitudes, mentalities, interests, and intellectual processes impact the culture of an organization (Glynn, 2008). The body of literature identified a problem space in research; little knowledge exists or fails to specify which organizational traits influence favorable or bad results or under what conditions these outcomes take place in culture (Glynn, 2008; Headley, 2018). For example, there is a significant amount of inconsistency in research regarding the factors that influence a police officer's behavior toward racial diversity and representation. Recent events and global protests have called for massive overhauls of policies and citizens' demands to defund police departments. Further research has identified significant variations associated with police use of force (Headley, 2018). The community response to racial diversity, representation, and use of force has created a deep sense of mistrust and the reluctance of citizens to call for help.
Academic scholars can responsibly manage these influences for the organization's good by evaluating specifics that identify the area or community where police use-of-force incidents have occurred (such as crime, poverty rates, and racial and cultural makeup). These facts build upon one another to demonstrate a significant organizational phenomenon, explain its potential sources and processes, and display boundary circumstances that may amplify or restrain its occurrence (Headley, 2018).

Location is important for an organization. Setting up shop without delving into the impacts the action would have on the community and the organization as whole is bad business.
Support from the local community is just as important. Resistance out of fear or ignorance greatly effects a business project and the negative influence not only increases costs, but may halt the project altogether (Derakhshan et al., 2019). Harnessing community support entails building a positive perception that an organization is true to their word and a socially responsible entity. One way an organization influences community perception is by satisfying social observation through responsible means of operating (Derakhshan et al., 2019). Another influence on community perception is the level of exploitation of local resources. Exploiting resources is economically, environmentally, and culturally detrimental to a community and can be seen as blatant abuse by an economic power (Banerjee, 2018). Truly listening and understanding why communities hesitate to accept certain projects is essential for the reputation of a business and could possibly lead to better outcomes through legitimate compromise.
Leaders of an organization are responsible for its growth. It is no secret, then, that there is some type of bias in place when dealing with community conflict. In fact, both sides are bias, which is why a conflict would exist in the first place. One way to mitigate conflict is through translocal networks. These entities represent diverse communities from multiple areas (Banerjee, 2018). Contracting their experience creates a perception of legitimate communication and therefore, strengthens community trust in an organization as it creates a more personalized platform in which arguments can be heard at the local level.

Good morning Dr. Judy and Classmates,
Creating linkages between communities and organizations is an essential component for the growth and advancement of the community (Brzustewicz et al., 2021). Community members need to know if organizations within the community can be trusted? Another constituent is: what can the organization do for the community or what can organizations bring to the table? For instance, communities are always looking for ways to flourish and organizations that provides jobs is a means to do so. Organizational leaders can assist the community by sponsoring community events and activities that generate awareness and promote acceptance. Also, organizations can assist to strengthen relationships by advocating and providing resources to the community. For example, donating school supplies or assisting with a community fund raiser. Organizations can help the community thrive and generate revenue for the community by allowing its employees to volunteer and engage in community service projects. This permits organizations give back to the community. On the other hand, organizations can provide service learning and job shadowing opportunities for students that reside within the community. Students can experience real-world situations to aid in preparation for his or her future. These experiences will enable the members of the community to become familiarized with the benefits that the organizations bring to the community while building life-long partnerships (Gray & Stevenson, 2020). Leaders must conduct themselves ethically to build trust and establish heathy relationships.
