Assignment 6e: Experiential Family Therapy Presentation

Objective: Analyze an experiential family therapy session.

Now that you have a deeper knowledge and understanding of Experiential Family theories in practice, you are going to observe a session using Satir’s Growth Model. This assignment will allow you to recognize the techniques of the theory in a tangible way.

Make sure you read the chapters to complete the assignment and read the transcript.

Read Chapters 8-9 in your textbook by Gehart.

You can skip the intro and the procession after the session. You only need to watch Part 2: The Family Therapy Session.

Create a PowerPoint Presentation from the instructions below.

Presentation

Build a 1-9 slide presentation on your analysis and observations of the Family Therapy Session. Make sure to integrate the framework and conceptualization from the text and other literature.

Provide the presentation in the following outline:

Slide 1: Cover Slide

Slide 2: Overview of Satir Growth Model Conceptualization (Key concepts and phases)

Slide 3: Therapeutic relationship (What is the observed therapeutic relationship and how does its alignment with the model?)

Slide 4: Interventions identified (What interventions from the model are used?)

Slide 5: Treatment Phase (What phase of the model is the family in?)

Slide 6: Next Steps (What would be the next steps for therapy based on the Model?)

Slide 7: References

Use APA formatting for citations and references

Provide speaking content in the Slide Notes as if you were presenting to a live audience.

Provide a voice overlay for each slide so that the facilitator can experience the full presentation experience.

For each slide, you will select Slide Show from the toolbar

Select Record Slide Show

Once in the recording screen, toggle the video camera in the bottom right corner for your image if you choose to be visually recorded too

Select Notes at the top for reference to your slide notes to assist your recording. These will not show in the final recording.

Submit through One Drive to reduce upload and download issues because the voiceover feature will make the file very large.

Submit the PowerPoint in PDF format in Canvas as an artifact of the assignment.
