ifferent social and economic status to the patients determines their ability to afford healthcare services. The practical measures to implement as a health care professional in supporting patients who may have challenges in financing their health care services include; preventing illnesses through promoting healthy behaviors in patients, including nutritious and exercise counseling services to promote better health. The other important measure is preventing diseases by protecting those at risk of health care infections, for instance, through childhood infections. The next important strategy in promoting patient health to enhance health care affordability is to identify and treat the patient with the symptoms but who have risk factors before the clinical illness develops; these may include screening for hypertension and colorectal cancers. It is also important to educate and help the patient obtain the health care insurance covers that help finance health care services increase their ability to afford health care services (Maruguchi, 2012).
1. Identify the different roles and responsibilities of the nurse.
A nurse is a caregiver for patients and helps manage physical needs, prevents illness, and treats health conditions. To achieve these objectives, the nurses need to monitor the patient’s record and vital sensitive information to promote effective treatment decisions. During the treatment process, the nurses monitor the patients’ health care progress and act according to the interests that will promote better patient health. The nurses’ vital roles include patient’s advocacy, where the nurses successfully advocate for patient’s best interests and maintain their dignity in the entire treatment and care. The challenges that might affect my role when fulfilling a nurse practitioner’s various roles include long and varied working hours. Working under-rotated shifts upset the body’s natural circadian rhythm, increasing the health risks of cancer, heart diseases, cancer, obesity, stroke, and depression. The next challenge is environmental exposure. The nurse’s working environment increases the risks of contracting illnesses or suffering from side effects from various chemicals and chemicals that come into their contact. The other challenge is increased stress levels due to work overload and critical patient health care planning. The other challenge is the legal risks that leave the nurses open to malpractice lawsuits from patients who are unhappy with their treatment, suffer from side effects. In other cases, if the patient dies, the nurse might be held responsible (Jaruseviciene et al., 2013).
The effective improvement measure includes communicating with the organization leaders to develop effective operation shifts and increase the number of working staff to eliminate workloads. The other important strategy is building a better relationship with patients and other health care providers to ensure better health care to patients to prevent any legal actions to the nurses. The health care facilities and health care providers should implement practices and systems that support the nurses. My nursing responsibility’s important strength includes a desire to learn, critical thinking, respectfulness, communication skills, emotional stability, empathy, caring, and problem-solving, among others (Yolanda Smith, 2021).
