Module 06 Content
- Throughout your education, you have been asked to research topics and write papers, engage in thought-provoking discussions, consider diverse perspectives, and a host of other challenges that have required you to use both your discipline-specific skills as well as your soft skills. These are called transferable skills, and are skills that you develop that can be transferred and applied within your chosen career. Transferable skills are highly valuable and essential for career success.
Part I: Compiling Your Exemplar Project
- Compile all of your completed course project assignment deliverables. Place them in the proper order, and save them in a single Microsoft Word document.
- Part II: Transferable Skills Self Reflection
- In a minimum of 1 full page, using Microsoft Word, write an es – say (full introduction and conclusion), which includes the following:
- Describe the knowledge, skills and/or attitudes regarding each of the transferable skills that you've gained as a result of completing this particular project/assignment.
- Discuss the ways that you are going to incorporate the transferable skills (the transferable skills that you showcased in your exemplary project) into your work within your chosen career field.
- Describe your future goals based on the transferable skills that you've chosen to showcase.
- Write your paper utilizing proper tone, spelling and grammar.
- Once you have completed your reflection assignment, add it to the end of the document you compiled in part I. The self-reflection should be the last few pages of your exemplar project. If done correctly, everything will be one document!
- Save the compiled document to a folder. Then, zip or compress the folder, and submit the zipped folder to the drop box.

Planning
Planning represents the technique of thinking about the tasks necessary to achieve a specified objective. Anticipation, the basic capability for cognitive time travel, is the foundation for planning. Forethought, or the ability to plan beyond, is believed to have been a driving force in human evolution (Elbanna & Elsharnouby, 2018). Planning is an essential aspect in healthcare as through planning health organizations and health stakeholders are able to achieve the specific goals required to run the organization successfully. In the current organization I work for as a health worker, it is essential to note that planning is required in the following main functions.
The first argument for the importance of planning in the workplace is to develop clarity and increase communication. Effective planning in healthcare management may aid in the creation of clarity and improved communication within an organization. The strategic plan should cover the most pressing concerns, as well as the organization's vision and goals, as well as the measures necessary to achieve them. Employees and stakeholders will have more trust and confidence in the company. secondly, planning is essential for improvement of employee engagement and motivation. Each employee wishes to be acknowledged and heard. Recognition from their superiors may have a significant influence on their productivity, engagement, and safety management. Every employee wishes to be given the authority to make decisions that will benefit the company. This also encourages them to go above and beyond the job description or performance evaluation's minimal acceptable requirements. Employees will be unmotivated to develop themselves if their employer has a clear goal and a well-executed game plan. Lastly, planning is essential for the development of transformational authority and leadership. Transformational leadership is a style of management that motivates workers to work more and achieve greater results. It contains strategies that have been recognized in the field of organizational behavior. Transformational leaders have the ability to properly express their organization's goal, believe in their staff, and achieve high levels of performance. Strategic management requires one to help the staff understand how their positions may contribute to the organization's purpose and vision.

Electronic Health Record System
At UCCO, there is a current crucial requirement of working with advanced and technical systems since their usage in hospital environments generate better health outcomes. In terms of finances, UCCO is capable of purchasing an electronic health record (HER) and can gain lots of profits once the system analyzes diverse patient data. Suitable examples for the HER area Logical Doc and Zoho Docs which area all imperative in offering change to the hospital environment. Analysis of two different HER systems is valid to create a structured method of solving any types of issues that patients get subjected to.

System improvement is always possible Tweaking of the system can get done to promote access to data User of user data offers better development |
Lack of user groups creates issues for all interconnected parties Limited robustness can occur |
Understanding end user requirements is mandatory to serve the entire work environment with concepts suitable for their health operations. Use of a HER available in real time is required to deal with different types of health data and their management. A user interface provides better outcomes when attempting to deal with records since it is possible to update content without getting concerned with the backend components. Health record systems offer better outcomes when dealing with improvements since it is possible to ensure accurate health improvement without affecting other persons in the healthcare environment (De Benedicti et al., 2020). Concepts such as confidentiality of each user, data integrity, and avoidance of errors generate a reliable method of serving all parties in a healthcare environment. All the HERs shall be expensive to the nature of data which shall get stored on the system. There shall also be a structured method of ensuring change in terms of system operations after working with other persons in the work environment to provide them with accurate handling of their departmental expectations.
Each HER can get accessed by all health environments and only get change once the system management procedure integrates different user interfaces for all health departments. There shall be accurate improvement for all departments once the financial component of getting the HER receives required focus (Wolfe et al., 2018). Financial issues might occur limiting integration of the systems since their technical; operations shall need to get changed. To eliminate issues, Barbara can purchase a cheap but robust package of the HER so that her managers will understand methods of offering better health outcomes. The systems can get considered to be viable investments whose operations shall serve all persons in the work environment.

MODULE 03 PROJECT – STRATEGY
SWOT
Strengths |
Weaknesses |
-secure information sharing -speedy information sharing -provides cloud storage -end to end data encryption |
-poor internet connectivity leads to poor service delivery -system breakdown -high cost of implementation |
Opportunities |
Threats |
-Uses mobile applications -emergency contact that increases patient care – Extra costs of staff training, maintenance, and upgrades will be alleviated. |
-implementation may compromise normal hospital proceedings. – Hospital operations would be put on hold if the system failed, unless the administration decided to go back to paper records while repairs were being completed. |
Based on the results of the SWOT analysis, what should Barbara recommend as an overall strategy?
As a consequence of the SWOT analysis, Barbara should recommend a system that can effectively and efficiently meet the expectations of the healthcare institution. The ultimate aim is to aim for speedy systems that can process information rapidly while providing high-quality patient care. A high level of functionality is also essential for all of a patient's data to be quickly analyzed, accessible, and saved for future use to be effective. In addition, the system should be easy to use so that the professionals and workers who will be utilizing it will be able to do so with little difficulty. Patients and physicians will enjoy the wide range of features offered by the system and the ease with which they can access their data if the system's developer considers this component. Finally, when the system has been put in place, medical professionals should be trained on how to use the system.
How will the selection of the chosen EHR system contribute to the strategy? Further, explain why it was the best choice.
eClinical is one of the best choices for this strategy. The ability of the EHR to keep well-structured data is one of how it will assist with planning; it is also quick and has many amazing features. According to expectations, after the EHR system has been configured for the company, it will increase the effectiveness, efficiency, and overall quality of care offered to patients (Kapritsou, 2020). As a result of the system's design, health care practitioners may readily access patient information while simultaneously ensuring that data is kept secure to avoid unauthorized access. By delivering affordable and low-maintenance rates, as well as a low maintenance cost, the e-Clinical will contribute to the reduction of healthcare facility maintenance charges as part of this strategy. Aside from that, the system's extensive set of features makes it easy for patients and physicians to log in and connect via their portals. It is necessary to build a hybrid strategy that allows clinicians to write in a way that best suits their preferences while still capturing the required structured data pieces. Data reporting and exchange requirements are met while increasing physician use. Aside from that, healthcare companies should educate doctors on the advantages of collecting structured data pieces and maintaining flexibility inside an EHR so that progress notes and physician styles may be customized (Bishop, et al., 2019).
On what basis should she develop action items? What should the action items be, as they directly relate to the strategy?
Making decisions on the action items should be done in line with how important they are to accomplishing the organization's goals are. The organization's mission is to implement an electronic health system that will help improve effectiveness, efficiency, and quality in the delivery of healthcare services. It is necessary to complete the following steps to implement an EHR successfully: the formation of an implementation team; software configuration; identification of hardware requirements; data transfer; workflow optimization; consideration of the room layout; selection of the approach to be used in the system's launch; and, finally, the start of the implementation process.
What should the recommended outcomes and/ or long-term goals be, based on the action items?
In light of the action items, it is recommended that all medical workers and patients be taught how to utilize the system effectively. The patient must know how they may post their health information online and interact with their medical providers. To avoid service disruption if the system fails, it is advised that the hospital prepare to restore normal operations immediately. Finally, long-term training is required to ensure that everyone has the abilities necessary to communicate with medical practitioners via the internet (Katehakis,et al., 2018). All of these will contribute to enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare provision.

MODULE 05 PROJECT – ACTION PLAN
What is the role of executives in the process of change management and strategic planning? How do issues with diversity and culture relate to change management?
The majority of individuals are averse to change. They fear it for the simple reason that change may be scary for those who are used to their routines. It's difficult for us to adapt to change, particularly in the workplace, since it pulls us out of our comfort zone. It is not difficult to execute good change management. It is a critical factor in assuring the success of significant changes like a new system rollout, a recent merger, a process reform, or the appointment of a new CEO (Sundari, 2018). The executives have a huge role to play in management and planning. The executives must assist their staff as they adjust to the shift. This group of managers and supervisors are the ones who are most likely to provide information about how a change would affect each employee.
An organization's ability to innovate and better serve an increasingly varied client base is enhanced when it employs individuals from various backgrounds (genders, ethnicities, socioeconomic statuses, ages, temperaments, and so on). To fully realize this potential, inclusion and diversity must go hand in hand. Employees, colleagues, and coworkers must feel that they are cherished and respected. Diverse teams, especially in times of transition, are better able to generate new ideas and overcome reluctance to change because of the energy variety brings to the table.
Why is diversity inclusion important? What are the benefits? Specifically, address UCCO purpose for diversity.
Diversity and inclusion are all around us, affecting and projecting ourselves and other-worth. When one understands the others, one can appreciate the uniqueness of each individual and scenario. Everyone's personality is unique; therefore, no two people — not identical twins — are the same. This is what makes teams, workgroups, and families fascinating.
Along with this, understanding inclusivity and how people need connection are also critical to this understanding. When one grasps the significance of inclusion, one can see the good and bad consequences it may have on the person and the community. When we look at our teams and groups, we don't realize that we're watching a varied bunch who we hope are all united and included over the sport and exhibit this via victory. Diversity is celebrated and embraced at UCCO to offer students with life-changing learning opportunities.
Discuss how working with others can help respect diversity and respect for diverse perspectives.
Working with others is one of the most significant ways of helping us respect diversity and diverse perspectives. Diversity is an economic and legal goal that boosts the bottom line, fosters new ideas, and protects firms from legal repercussions (Sanchez, et al., 2018). Working with others makes it possible to discern the positive and negative effects of inclusion when one understands its importance. It's easy to overlook that our teams and groups are made up of diverse people who we hope will unify over the sport and demonstrate this via winning.
What are the challenges and benefits of employing a diverse workforce?
Workplace diversity may have both positive and negative effects on a company. Some of the difficulties include:
Communication: One of the most critical barriers in the success of any diversity program is the ability to communicate across cultural and linguistic boundaries effectively. this kind of environment is characterized by confusion, a lack of cohesiveness, and a low sense of purpose
Resistance to change- Employees who refuse to accept the truth that their workplace is changing will always be found. New ideas and growth are stifled by a "we've always done it this way" mindset
Policies problems– This might be the most daunting task for all supporters of diversity in the workplace. Their findings from employee evaluations and research data will help them create and execute a tailored plan to maximize the benefits of diversity in the workplace.
Benefits
Having the ability to accept and benefit from diversity is critical to an organization's success and competitiveness. Developing and implementing a diversity strategy can have several positive effects on an organization, including:
· Increased adaptability- Companies with a diverse staff, may provide more options for solving service, sourcing, and resource allocation concerns. Employees from a wide range of backgrounds bring a unique set of skills and perspectives to the table when it comes to coming up with innovative solutions that can be quickly adapted to changing market conditions and consumer needs (Fine, et al., 2020).
· A broader range of services: A company can serve consumers worldwide by having employees with a wide range of knowledge and skills (including languages and cultural understanding).
· A wide range of perspectives of view: It's easier to come up with new ideas when you have a varied group of employees who are allowed to express their opinions openly. To better satisfy the demands of the company's business plan and its consumers, it may draw on this reservoir of expertise.
· More efficient execution: Every employee's performance is boosted when a company promotes an environment that values diversity. Consequently, a company's overall strategy may be put into action and lead to increased production, profit, and return on investment.
What should Barbara’s plan be for encouraging teamwork among a diverse workforce and ensuring that employees make meaningful and valuable contributions to team projects and tasks. Incorporate Barbara’s personal experience with the team of clinic managers.
In this case, Barbara should create a stimulating and productive environment instead of an environment rich in competition and hatred due to the effects of competitive incentives. Therefore, it is essential to come up with activities that can help the employees showcase their diverse cultures and arts through activities like a talent show. It is also necessary to ensure fairness and equality for everybody.

What can a healthcare organization accomplish with the strategic planning process?
Strategic health planning comprises determining a company's long-term objectives and goals, as well as devising a strategy to achieve them. Future technology advancements, changes in government policy and economic trends that might radically impact on the operations of the organization must all be included into healthcare planning. The importance of strategic planning in healthcare should be recognized by every hospital or health organization pursuing short- and long-term success (Abdel-Basset et al., 2018). Due to the intricacy of healthcare planning, the benefits of strategic planning in healthcare are many.
Hospitals and healthcare institutions, like other businesses, have a variety of levels. Health systems must plan for the future, from patient care to finance. Strategic planning, as opposed to traditional plans, anticipates changes in all areas. The importance of strategic planning in healthcare may also be shown in productivity (Ginter et al., 2018). Most organizations believe they are operating as efficiently as possible, but examining productivity may uncover areas for improvement and aid in the establishment of more defined objectives.
What would you recommend as areas of focus for Barbara's strategic plan?
Risk management
Healthcare risk management assists in the protection of healthcare companies from a number of threats peculiar to the industry. These threats may imperil your cash, business administration, losses, and accountability, among other things (Mikhno et al., 2020). Risk management, on the other hand, offers you with a system to follow in order to prevent these risks and to deal with them if they happen.
Damage control will be supported by risk management measures, which will lessen patient health threats.
Operating budgeting
Healthcare operational budgeting determines anticipated funds for facility running expenses and people expenditures, such as staffing and training (Guha and Kumar, 2018). Unbalanced income and spending tracking is possible with a healthcare operational budget.
Discuss how Barbara can achieve a balance between historical and current topics in healthcare?
Barbara should go through the historical topics in healthcare and analyze them in depth in order to understand the topics. This way, she will be able to pick topics that worked in the historical times and see how she could incorporate them with the current topics by comparing and contrasting them and then deciding the one that works best. This way, Barbara will manage to strike a balance.
How should she apply them for her strategic plan?
Barbara should present the results of her research and studies and show management the benefits of incorporating the historical and modern topics and the advantages of applying them. She should then test her theory to a small group of individuals to ensure that her way works.
What type(s) of primary and secondary research would you recommend Barbara conduct? What are the benefits? Explain.
For primary research, Barbara should use questionnaires use the web to conduct her secondary research.
Barbara should use questionnaires because they are
Cheap
Questionnaires are important for a variety of reasons, owing to the fact that they are among the cheapest methods to gather quantitative information. Auto questionnaires, in example, are a great way to cut expenses but collect huge quantities of information from a large group of people in a short time without having to meet with the interviewees and talk to them.
Practical
Their distribution will be limited to certain groups, and their treatment will differ. You have total control over your replies to the questions as well as the exam's layout (open-ended or multiple choice). They allow for the collection of massive volumes of data on practically any topic. Their uses are many and varied. Easier to obtain results.
Questionnaires are the easiest way to obtain results especially with the improved technology. Barbara will be able to receive the information needed with just a day.
Secondary research such as the web is easily reliable and can be obtained faster and more affordably.

When it comes to healthcare, email is still a go-to method of communication.
Advantages of email
You don't have to pay for email (Ramage & Moorley, 2019).
Email is a time-saving method of communication
Email is a straightforward method of communication
Email may be accessed from any computer with an internet connection, so it's convenient for healthcare providers to use.
Instant access to information and files can be achieved through the use of email
As soon as healthcare professionals are connected to the internet, they may send and receive messages without incurring additional costs. With an internet connection, health care providers may reply to their clients at any time, regardless of where they are. This offers them the opportunity to conduct further study or seek advice from colleagues. Using this tool is a cinch for medical professionals. Once you've set up your account, you may compose, send, and receive messages with ease. In addition, email helps patients to get information quickly and easily. They can access their inbox and read your communications whether they're in the office, on the field, or even overseas, which benefits their patients. For the sake of having a paper trail of any online talks or contacts, healthcare providers can choose to send themselves files and store correspondence

Disadvantages of Email
When you send an email, there's no way to make it feel personal.
The use of email is disruptive
Misunderstandings can occur when information is conveyed by email (Ramage & Moorley, 2019).
Emails should be kept to a minimum in length
