Although small businesses often have some type of starter Web site, the business owner might not be certain on how to ensure that the site is getting the right traffic or whether or not it is being seen by the right potential customers. For this project, consider how you might consult a small business owner in a similar situation who would like to improve or change their existing Web site to make it more customer- and SEO-friendly.
Choose a product or service. The product or service may be real or hypothetical, but the Web site that you describe for this project must be original and not match a current product’s Web site. Describe how you would update the Web site to help the small business. Address the following:
- Describe the product or service, as well as 3–5 key search terms that customers would likely use to find this product or service in a search engine.
- What are 2 or more design elements that you would include to ensure that the site is optimized for user experience (UX) design?
- What are 2 or more additional Web design practices that you would include for search engine optimization?
- What content could you include on the Web site to increase potential links (i.e., backlinks) to it?
