Health Policy: Our New Visitor Policy to Keep You safe in the Hospital

• I keep working in support of this policy because it is of great importance today in the second phase of the crisis of the COVID 19 pandemic
• Employees and visitors must wear a mask, practice hand washing, practice social distancing and only one visitor is allowed per patient.

• The governor DeSantis will always have great influence in decision making and Darren Soto specifically represents Osceola County where the hospital is located.

Federal or state budget impact /Organizational or community budget impact

• Restrictions for employees and visitors can help to avoid more infections inside the hospital. Also, will help to have a higher rate of discharged patients and the hospital can have a greater reimbursement of money from medical plans, state, or federal budget. Despite the challenging operating environments, hospitals are trying to survive and maintain delivery of high-quality healthcare services. (Saleema A. Karim, 2018)
• Have an organizational impact because helps fewer hospital employees get sick and this means less expenses in hospital payments for medical insurance. It also helps fewer employees must go into COVID quarantine and the hospital avoids paying PDO. Also avoid hiring contract employees and having to pay them more.

Advantage of the policy to your profession/Effect of the policy on patients and their families

• The great advantage for nursing profession is that we can appropriate educate others about how to avoid more infections

   Avoid contact with more people inside the hospital

• Patients are protected from external infections
• Family members avoid going to the hospital and they get informed by telephone about the status or updates of their family member.
• Advantage of hire contract employees and have to pay them more.
• A serious advantage that we can be an example to re-implement these practices in society to control the pandemic.

Weve taken many steps to keep you safe in the hospital, including checking the temperatures of all patients and staff and separating patients who are sick from those who dont have symptoms. These measures make it possible to allow visitors in many of our hospitals, safely. (Advent Health System, 2020)
