Engage a child you know in a conversation about books or reading (or think about a conversation youve recently had with a child on this topic). What did you learn from this conversation? Did anything about this conversation surprise you? Did anything worry you? Did anything impress you? Think about what questions you asked and how the child responded. Did any of those questions extend or deepen the conversation and prompt interesting responses? Did any seem to stop the conversation? Are there other questions you wish you had asked?
Begin the post with a brief description of your conversation with a child and what you learned. Based on this conversation and other experiences youve had, write two questions or conversational strategies you think might help extend or deepen this type of conversation.
