Final Discussion – Policy Argumentation & Rebuttal

For this discussion, imagine that you are a concerned citizen who has just  read one of the essays posted in last week’s discussion (which you can find here:   ). After careful consideration and research, you realize that certain aspects of the argument are lacking. Your task in this assignment is to present your counterargument to an essay one of your peers wrote.

When writing your response to this discussion please adhere to the following guidelines:

• Your introduction should state your counterargument clearly as your thesis, and lay out which points from the argument you are responding to.
• You can either directly refute the argument the made in the essay, present independent counterarguments to the issue as a whole, or a combination of both
• Include at least 2 outside sources that support your points
• Remember that your audience is your peer, not the instructor: Write to your classmate, not me. Include the peer’s name and the title of their assignment.

You are welcome to expand upon the post that you wrote to one of your peers in last week’s discussion thread (that was intended as practice for this one). Note that this discussion is your final for the course, so the 24-hour late rule does not apply here:  Anything submitted after the deadline will not receive credit
