Malnutrition and Food Security in Haiti

Introduction:

Your final paper is due on June 23rd, 2021 at 11:59 pm.  Please remember that this is a five-week course, so the time is almost completed.  Your paper should be a reflection of your work and the research that you have completed. Writing a research paper takes time and effort, so you will need to put some major work into producing your final paper. For those conducting laboratory research, your mentor should help you craft this paper, and he/she will assist in providing the final grade.

Instructions:

Your paper should be between 5-7 pages of content (not including references).  It may be longer than that, but it should not be shorter than that.  In your paper, you should have references that reflect the articles and papers that you have used as a foundation for your research. Additionally, you will need to have the following items in your paper:

• An abstract (you should have completed it by now) – 10 pts. I will give you updates on your current submissions and you have a chance to change it.
• An introduction – 10 pts.  In this section, you explain the foundation for your research.  What is the backstory?  What research has already been done?  But most of all … WHY are you doing this work? For those who are doing benchwork research, you should also include a hypothesis or problem statement regarding your work.
• Methods and materials – 15 pts. In this section, you will need to provide the materials that you used to conduct this research. Additionally, you should identify and describe the steps and methods that you used in order to conduct your research.  For those who are doing the diet project, you will need to describe your method for identifying articles, the food analysis project, and other components that you have used to craft your paper.
• Data/Findings – 10 pts. In this section, you need to explain your findings and what they mean for your overall project.  Additionally, you want to explain any issues that may have happened in your research and any future areas of study that you believe should be conducted.
• References – 5 pts. You need to identify the articles, websites, interviews, etc. that were used for research.  Please use APA style. You should have at minimum 10 references and sources, though you probably need more in order to complete the project.
