BUS621 WEEK TWO | ASSIGNMENT[MUSIC PLAYING] We welcome Steve Forbes back to get his thoughts on leadership and some specific skills in communication. In January 2018, Dean Brenner, a recognized expert in persuasive communication, wrote an article in Forbes Magazine. It was titled, “To Communicate Well Listen First.” The article went on to discuss why listening is the initial key to communication. Steve, in your experience as a leader, what do you feel is the most important aspect of communication, besides listening? Well, knowing what you’re talking about. Or if you’re going in an area where it’s unknown– where you don’t have all the facts– convey that you will get whatever you need to get the job done. Everyone knows that you always can’t paint by the numbers when you face a situation. So you have to convey that you have that artistry, that judgment, that understanding– that you’re going to be able to pull this thing through. And that’s the key in terms of leadership. And you may stumble, but if people have faith in you, you can get up and move forward. [MUSIC PLAYING]
