Paige is a 5-year-old recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. She is currently in kindergarten at a local elementary school. Her mother is very concerned about learning all her care. She states, “How can I send her to school if I am still learning how to take care of her?”

You receive a call from Paige’s mother stating her blood sugars drop in the afternoon on some days but not on others. What further information would you want to obtain?
