Identify one social determinant of health (e.g., education, housing, transportation, discrimination, or access to care) and explain how it contributes to health disparities in a specific population group.
Describe a realistic clinical scenario (hypothetical) in which a nurse could apply cultural humility when caring for a patient from a background different from their own. Include at least one specific strategy the nurse could use (e.g., using a cultural assessment tool, asking open-ended questions, or involving a cultural broker).
Reflect: How might unexamined personal biases affect your ability to deliver equitable care, and what steps will you take to develop cultural humility as a future BSN-prepared nurse?
Your initial post must be 300–350 words minimum. Support your discussion with at least two scholarly sources (textbook counts as one). Use APA 7th edition for in-text citations and the reference list.Response Requirements:

2. Cultural Self-Awareness Reflective Paper
Complete a cultural self-assessment using the tool provided in the Week 9 module. Then write a reflective paper addressing the following:Paper Structure (use these headings):Introduction (½ page) Briefly describe your cultural background and what “culture” means to you personally.
Cultural Self-Assessment Summary (1 page) Summarize your key findings from the cultural self-assessment.
Identify at least two personal cultural values, beliefs, or biases that surfaced during the assessment.
Discuss how these values or biases were formed (family, education, media, personal experiences, etc.).
Implications for Nursing Practice (1 page) Explain how your identified values or biases could positively or negatively affect your interactions with patients from different cultural backgrounds.
Provide one specific example of a potential clinical situation where your background might create a challenge.
Describe two concrete strategies you will use to develop cultural humility and promote health equity in your future practice (e.g., ongoing education, reflective journaling, seeking diverse clinical experiences, or using validated cultural assessment tools).
Conclusion (½ page) Reflect on why cultural humility and commitment to health equity are essential competencies for baccalaureate-prepared nurses.
