In your initial post (minimum 300–350 words), address the following:
Briefly describe the historical figure or event you chose and its key contributions to nursing.
Analyze how this person or event advanced the professionalization of nursing (e.g., education, standards of practice, public image, autonomy, or diversity in the profession).
Discuss at least one specific way this historical development still influences professional nursing practice or education today. Provide a concrete example from current healthcare settings.
Reflect personally: How does learning about this aspect of nursing history affect your view of the profession you are entering?
Support your post with at least two scholarly sources (one may be the textbook; the second must be a peer-reviewed article or credible professional website such as ANA, AACN, or a historical nursing archive). Use APA 7th edition for in-text citations and references.Response Requirements:

Working individually, create a visual timeline that highlights 8–10 key milestones in the historical evolution of nursing from ancient times through the 21st century. Your timeline must include a balanced mix of:Influential nursing leaders/figures
Major historical events or wars that impacted nursing
Developments in nursing education and licensure
Advances in professional organizations (e.g., ANA, ICN)
Instructions:Use a free digital tool such as Canva, Google Slides, TimelineJS, or Microsoft PowerPoint to create your timeline.
For each milestone, include:Year or date range
Brief title/description (2–4 sentences)
