Describe the developmental markers a nurse should assess for a 9-month-old female infant. Discuss the recommendations you would give the mother. Explain why these recommendations are based on evidence-based practice.

As a nurse, some developmental markers that I would assess for a 9-month-old female infant include:
One of the developing skills are gross motor skills the infant should be able to sit without support, crawl, and possibly stand while holding onto a support NRS-434VN Health Assessment Topic 1 DQ 2.
Furthermore another skill is fine motor skills they be able to pick up small objects with their thumb and index finger, called a pincer grasp（Orange County, 2023)
another developing skills is communication skills , nine month old should be able to respond to their name, understand simple commands, and babble in a way that sounds like talking.
Another one is social skills where infant should be showing signs of stranger anxiety and beginning to show preferences for certain people.
Based on the growth measurements and developmental markers, I would recommend to the mother that she continues to encourage her child’s development by engaging in activities that support these milestones. For example, providing toys that encourage fine motor skills, such as blocks or stacking toys, and reading or talking to the child to support communication skills.These recommendations are based on evidence-based practice because research has shown that engaging in activities that support developmental milestones can improve outcomes in areas such as language development, cognitive function, and social-emotional development (Ferguson, 2012). Additionally, monitoring the child’s growth and development is important for identifying any potential delays or concerns that may require further evaluation or intervention.
