Analyze how IT contributes to the economy in your country or region
THE IMPACT OF IT ON ECONOMY AND STANDARD OF LIVING
IT is a leading factor in economic growth in developed nations. Innovation in IT leads to new services and products that contribute to the economy. It also gives a competitive edge to these nations. Also, IT has invariably made businesses more efficient; and more efficient business means greater cost effectiveness, which means bolstered economies. This reflects in better services and higher standards of living.
Nevertheless, how well do you think this logic holds up universally? For example, in nations with high poverty levels, does IT improve economies enough to provide a route out of that poverty? Does it contribute to higher standards of living? Remember that the economy, as measured by the gross national product, is not always a reflection of the standard of living since wealth might be distributed unfairly.
As an IT professional, you should be aware of how the IT industry fits in the landscape of the economy of your country, how it impacts the well-being of the society, and how it contributes to its advancement.
In this Assignment you will examine how IT contributes to the economy in your country or region and how it contributes to a better life and higher standards of living for the citizens.
