I do think that anybody who downloads and uses iHiker should absolutely have to sign/agree to the Terms of Use agreement. The importance of this is so that it protects the company from legal trouble and tells users what they can and can’t do with the app. It’s also able to explain what happens if the app doesn’t work perfectly or if something goes wrong. The agreement should include things like what the app is allowed to do, what iHiker isn’t responsible for, rules about how users should behave, and a link to the privacy policy if the app collects user data. Checking out the app called AllTrails, you see their agreement had sections about what users can post, rules for using the app, and legal stuff like not suing the company if something goes wrong. It also had an arbitration clause, meaning that problems must be handled outside of court. There’s even a forum selection clause, which means all legal issues have to be handled in California. I think iHiker should use both of these too. Arbitration makes things faster and the forum selection clause helps keep things in one place.
