This week, you have learned about the six dimensions of quality in healthcare: safety, effectiveness, patient-centeredness, timeliness, efficiency, and equity. Explore how the six dimensions of healthcare quality—safety, effectiveness, patient-centeredness, timeliness, efficiency, and equity—relate to your own experiences. You will have the opportunity to meet your group members, learn about their backgrounds and experiences, and identify common themes related to healthcare quality. Building a strong foundation will help your team collaborate effectively throughout the course.

1. Meet Your Group:

· Introduce yourselves via email, inbox, or a virtual meeting to establish rapport.

· Share your educational and professional backgrounds and what interests you about healthcare quality improvement.

2. Discuss Your Experiences with Healthcare Quality:

· Each member should share a personal or observed experience in healthcare that relates to one or more of the six dimensions of quality (e.g., a situation where patient safety was at risk, an inefficiency in care delivery, or an example of outstanding patient-centered care).

· As a group, identify any common themes in your experiences. Are there particular dimensions of quality that stand out?

3. Post as a Group. One group member should submit a post that includes:

· Group Name & Member Names

· A summary of the common themes your group identified

· Examples of how these themes connect to the six dimensions of healthcare quality

4. Engage with Other Groups:

· Each student must respond to at least one other group’s post by sharing whether you’ve had similar experiences and discussing any insights or surprises.
