Parker needs to reevaluate the workload for each of the consultants and balance out the workload, so the Angie is able to get her work done and not be so overwhelmed. According to Manning and Curtis (2022), for a leader to multiply effectiveness of the team, that leader must have to ability to delegate tasks. Angie has the most experience on the team and Parker is leaning on her for a lot more and that has created an unbalanced workload for the team.

Parker must meet with Angie so they can discuss her workload and find out ways to take away some of the stress that she is currently experiencing. He also must take a look at his team and identify each member’s strengths and weaknesses. This will then allow Parker to move some of Angie’s work to other members of the team that have the capacity to handle the work.

At the beginning, Parker should not have been giving the newer consultants the very complex assignments because they were not ready for that. Providing those individuals with guidance and training would have allowed them to gradually work into being able to handle those complex assignments.

Paker needs to schedule time to meet with each member of the team so they can discuss their goals and any challenges that might be occurring with their work. He could also put the newer consultants with the experienced ones so they can shadow and learn the process that is in place. Then as the work is being conducted Parker will need to track each member’s progress and meet with those folks if expectations are not being met. This coaching strategy will allow the firm to run more smoothly and prevent certain members of the team from being overwhelmed.
