I worked 10 years for a company and the leader that I attracted my attention is coach Maria. She has high concern for both production and people. The leader cares intensely about task accomplishment and cares deeply about people (Curtis, 2021). She always shows consideration for people and involve in the work. The grid score of my leader is (8,7). She knows how to maintain a positive environment while focusing on task completion.

For a company to have success, both leadership and management are important, leadership according to Curtis (2021) is social influence. It means leaving a mark. It is initiating and guiding, and the result is change. The product is a new character or direction that otherwise would never be. By their ideas and deeds, leaders show the way and influence the behavior of others (p. 2). While management denotes formal authority, and accountability is delegated (p. 11). I think both leadership and management are necessary for grow and the success of the business.

I am potentially better manager than a leader and I think it is easier to focus on day-to-day work and making sure that employees meet expectations or achieve effective results, but sometimes I could be a leader by encouraging and motivating others.
